Rev. Dr. David Oertel, Pastoral Care Minister - Before settling in Hammock 10 years ago, David had served most of his ministry in upstate New York. He holds academic degrees from W. Va. Wesleyan College, Wesley Theological Seminary and Drew University. He and Linda, an accomplished organist and pianist, have been married 50 years. They have 2 married daughters and 4 grandchildren.


Rev. Dr. Darla Turlington, Spiritual Life Minister - Darla ("Dee Dee") grew up in Gainesville, FL and graduated from UF; her masters and doctoral studies were accomplished at Union Theological Seminary in NYC and Columbia University. Dee Dee served 20 years as a pastor of the First Baptist Church of Westfield, NJ. She currently serves on boards for the Ministers Council and Women in Ministry of the American Baptist Churches USA and Wake Forest School of Divinity. Her husband Don is a retired corporate tax law attorney. They have one son and daughter-in-law living in San Francisco.

Rev. Joe Roberts, Director of Music, has served churches in Florida and Georgia for the past 50 years.  In addition, he worked for the state of Georgia as a social services administrator for 30 years.  He is a graduate of Daytona State College and Luther Rice Seminary.  He also attended the University of Georgia where he completed the Certified Public Manager Program.  Joh and his wife, Micki, have four children, eleven grandchildren and one granddaughter-law.  They reside in Flagler Beach, Florida.

Rev. Dr. Ophelia Beier is retired from the Pentagon Joint Staff Operations and Plans Directorate.  She received a Master's Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Religious Studies from the University of Maryland and the International Christian Education College, California.  She had two years of theology training at the International Miracle Institute, Pensacola, FL and pastored with the Assembly of God.  Rev. Beier was ordained by Evangel Cathedral, Upper Marlboro, MD.  She has worked with the Association of Christian Clinical Counselors.  Currently she is a pastor at Hammock Community Church as well as holding an active license with the International Ministerial Fellowship.  She worked three years as a Nursing Home Chaplain and six years as a Florida Licensed Nursing Home Administrator/Healthcare Administrator.  She is an Army Veteran.  Her husband Deacon Edward Beier is a retired Air Force Special Agent.  They have four children, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
